Hi GCKids Parents,

Please enjoy this month’s GCKids Connect:

Remember when summer vacation lasted until September? Those were the days, right!? With school right around the corner, I’m reminded how quickly seasons can fly by and how quickly my kids are growing up. Juggling the role of a parent can be tough work between work, school, homework, sports, preparing meals, etc. It can be very easy for me to quickly miss opportunities to engage spiritually with my kids, especially while they are young.

Deuteronomy 6 tells us to love God with all our heart, soul, and strength and that we should impress these things upon our kids. We should talk about Him in our homes, around town, when we wake, and when we go to bed. Even as a Pastor, I often feel inadequate with how intentional I am with my family and my kids.

This fall, GCKids will be shifting our mid-week strategy to engage with the whole family in a new program called Family Fuel. The goal of Family Fuel is to encourage families to grow together in relationship and to encourage intentional spiritual conversations. We want to walk together, with tools and resources, to help parents grow in their ability to spiritually engage with their kids in a super fun environment. For more information on this new program, check out the details below. We look forward to an amazing month of ministry. Please feel free to reach out with any questions.

God bless,

Join us for Family Fuel, a mid-week program with the goal of empowering families to find and follow Jesus together. Family Fuel is not another kids program, but a strategy shift for GCKids to reach the whole family by providing an environment to model and encourage healthy spiritual rhythms for family. Tuesday evening gatherings will have elements of fun, built around facilitated large group discussion and family small groups. The “Fuel” will be provided through weekly tools to encourage parents to engage in spiritual conversations with their kids throughout the week. We ask you to pray about joining this new community of families launching this fall.

Family Fuel is not a drop-and-go event but is geared toward families with kids between the ages of 3–12. For more information about this exciting new venture, please contact Pastor Jamie at JTressen@GraceChapel.org.
