Hi GCKids Parents,
Please enjoy this month’s GCKids Connect:
School is back in session with new rhythms and routines beginning. It’s no different for GCKids as we get into the swing of fall programming which includes a new mid-week family program titled, Family Fuel (more info below). In addition to launching a new program, yearly statistics tell us we should expect an upswing in attendance each fall. In order for us to feel prepared and ready to welcome both new families and larger numbers, we are seeking new volunteers for each of our Kids Ministry departments. This is currently a HUGE need for GCKids and the church. Volunteering with kids is easy and the commitment is just one to two times per month. We work hard to give our volunteers all they need to be successful in their roles, making it easy to jump right in. This, in turn, makes a huge impact for our ministry and to our kids. We would love to give you an opportunity to serve the Lord at Grace by joining our Kids Ministry community. For more information on how to get involved, please contact any of our GCKids staff, we’d love to fill you in. Thank you for being prayerful about meeting this need in the church.

Family Fuel – Launching Tuesday, September 10
Time: Tuesday Evenings, 6:00–7:30 PM (Open Gym for food/games at 5:00 PM)
Location: High School Room (Student and Young Adult Building)
Join us for Family Fuel, a mid-week program with the goal of empowering families to find and follow Jesus together. Family Fuel is not another kids program, but a strategy shift for GCKids to reach the whole family by providing an environment to model and encourage healthy spiritual rhythms for the family. Tuesday evening gatherings will consist of elements of fun, built around facilitated large group discussion, and family small groups. The “Fuel” will be provided through weekly tools to encourage parents to live out Deuteronomy 6 by engaging in spiritual conversations with their kids throughout the week. We hope you pray about joining this new community of families launching this fall.
Family Fuel is not a drop-and-go event but is geared toward families with kids between the ages of 3–12. For more information about this exciting new venture, please contact Pastor Jamie at JTressen@GraceChapel.org.
Our next Grace Chapel prayer night is Tuesday, November 5. In addition to our adult prayer gathering, kids in attendance (ages 3 to 3rd grade) have the opportunity to participate through fun activities and interactive worship. We are excited to see our church prayer culture continue to grow and look forward to having our kids involved as well. Children with parents in attendance are welcome to attend this special program.
Trunk or Treat
Save the date for Trunk or Treat, Grace Chapel’s largest family outreach of the year! Join us, Friday, October 25, from 5:30–8:30 PM for a great evening of free food, games, face painting, gigantic inflatables, and of course…candy! More info to come.
GCKids Volunteer Opportunities
As mentioned at the beginning of this blog, we currently have a HUGE need for volunteers in Kids Ministry. We have nearly 200 kids that join us each Sunday and our numbers rise each fall. We would love to get you connected here at Grace through serving. If you are interested in learning more about what volunteering in Kids Ministry entails, please contact Jamie Tressen (Kids Pastor) at JTressen@GraceChapel.org.
