Hi GCKids Parents,
Please enjoy this month’s GCKids Connect:
Welcome to October. It’s officially autumn, and even as I write, it is the first time I’ve worn a jacket in what seems like six months! At GCKids, fall programming is underway, and this month all of our GCKids are studying courage and/or bravery. We are reminded to be “strong and brave” for God is always with us.
Family Fuel has officially launched and is off to a great start. Family Fuel is on Tuesday evenings from 6:00–7:15 PM and is a program designed for both kids and parents to interact together through games, activities, and family small groups (see our pics below).
Lastly, in October, we host our largest outreach event of the year, Trunk or Treat. Trunk or Treat will take place at Grace Chapel on Friday, October 25, from 5:30–8:00 PM. Be sure to dress up and join us for gigantic inflatable bounce houses, food, games, prizes, and of course…trunks full of candy! This is an outreach event so be sure to invite your friends, family, neighbors, or whoever else to join you at this fun and simple opportunity to invite someone to your church. We hope to see you there!
Have a great month.

Sock-tober Sock Drive:
In October, GCKids is partnering with our Grace Chapel Outreach Team to collect socks for Christ’s Body Ministries in downtown Denver. Each department in GCKids (Nursery, Clubhouse, and The Lodge) will have a collection box where sock donations can be dropped off on Sunday mornings. Please donate only NEW socks. Thank you so much for partnering with us to help support this amazing ministry. Christ’s Body Ministries is a church, rescue mission, resident community, and day shelter with regular food outreaches. Their mission statement is to see the homeless, love them, and help them to rise in Christ.
Time: Tuesday Evenings, 6:00–7:15 PM (Open Gym for food/games at 5:00 PM)
Location: High School Room (Student/Young Adult Building)
Join us for Family Fuel, a mid-week program with the goal of empowering families to find and follow Jesus together. Family Fuel is not another kids program, but a strategy shift for GCKids to reach the whole family by providing an environment to model and encourage healthy spiritual rhythms for family. Tuesday evening gatherings will consist of elements of fun, built around facilitated large group discussion, and family small groups. Please pray about joining this new community of families launching this fall.
Family Fuel is not a drop-and-go event but is geared toward families with kids between the ages of 3–12.
GCKids Volunteer Opportunities:
We currently have a HUGE need for volunteers in Kids Ministry. We have over 200 kids that join us each Sunday, and our numbers rise each fall. We would love to get you connected here at Grace through serving. If you are interested in learning more about what volunteering in Kids Ministry entails, please contact Jamie Tressen, Kids Pastor, at JTressen@GraceChapel.org.
