What is your understanding of scripture? Is it a book you open when the pastor tells you a page number or a trusted friend that you know is sufficient to meet any human struggle and carry you (or another) through the deep and unexplainable valleys of life? How can you make sense of life with its twists and turns from a godly perspective?
Whether a newer believer wanting to really understand what you believe, or a seasoned one wanting to help another through a desperate struggle, this class will equip anyone desiring to deepen their understanding of the Bible and how to use God’s Word to mentor, disciple or counsel yourself or others.
In fall, we will study the Fundamentals of the Faith starting with the Authority of the Bible, who is God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, man etc., finishing with the topic of suffering; all being the framework within which we understand God and consequently ourselves. In the New Year, we will look at very practical issues: the heart, marriage, family, worry and anxiety, anger, depression, addictions, and sexual issues.
The complete class extends for 22 weeks (10 in the fall and 12 in the winter/spring), but you can come for as many or few as your schedule allows. Fall classes begin September 10 – November 12. Winter/Spring classes begin January 7 – April 1. There is no cost for the class, but please register below.
