The name and person of Jesus Christ evokes a great deal of opinion, emotion, and dialogue. From t-shirts that quip "Jesus is my homey" to major motion pictures, documentaries, and vast volumes of books about His life, Jesus is very popular in the early 21st century.
So, who is this Jesus? Was He simply a peasant Galilean Jew, a rudimentary carpenter in Palestine, a good moral sage, or could there be more to who this man is? In some ways, Jesus was a peasant who probably learned the trade of His father – carpentry. We cannot distinguish Him as a good moral teacher if the very words He spoke about who He was were not true. Juxtaposed between a common first century life and an assertion of being YAHWEH, Jesus invites us into an intentional journey to truly discover who He really is.
This journey calls for all those who will earnestly seek to experience the truth of who He is to be resolute. Mere spectators will only jest at the possibilities, problems, or dilemmas, but true seekers will discover that truth is a person. So, are you willing to journey toward the truth of who Jesus is? At Grace Chapel, our journey has led us to embrace Jesus as the Son of God. The beauty of our journey is that we experience and enjoy a deep connection and relationship with Jesus. We acknowledge our brokenness, our tendency to wander from God, and our own moral weaknesses and sin. Therefore, we solely depend on Jesus to be our advocate, redeemer, substitute, and lover of our souls. We have individually and collectively embraced Him as our Lord and Savior. For us, Jesus is who we worship, obey, follow, trust, and pattern our lives after. He alone is worthy of our full affection, attention, and aspirations.
Please do not think we are perfect or have this all figured out. We don't, but we have come to know that Jesus has the words of eternal life and that He is the Holy One of God. In fact, one thing we know very well, without Jesus we are spiritually bankrupt.
