Keep Denver Warm

The Need

During the cold winter months, there are many homeless and low income folks in Denver that struggle to keep warm. It is especially challenging for families to purchase winter clothing items for several children. We believe that regardless of age, economics, and race, all people should have the appropriate clothing to stay warm.

The Challenge

In the month of October 2014, we issued the challenge to “Keep Denver Warm.” This means, as a family, small group, or mid-size community, together, Grace Chapel collected many gently used winter clothing items from neighbors, coworkers, and family. Then, brought the items back to Grace Chapel where they were distributed to our regional partners (Christ’s Body Ministries, Movement 5280, and Open Door Ministries).

The Results

More than 1400 clothing items were collected during October by hundreds of people at Grace Chapel.  Here is a video of people collecting items.  Here is a video of the items being sorted.  And below is a video of some of the clothes being distributed to a woman in need.
